As a result, all refunds are subject to the individual carrier’s underwriting rules, cancellation provisions, and refund policies.

 

Summit Shield does not determine refund eligibility or amounts.

Initial Policy Payments

 

Initial payments made to bind or issue an insurance policy are typically forwarded to the insurance carrier.

 

Refund eligibility for initial payments depends on:

 

  • Carrier underwriting approval

  • Policy effective date

  • Cancellation timing

  • Carrier-specific refund rules

 

Some carriers may issue:

 

  • Pro-rated refunds

  • Short-rate refunds

  • No refunds once coverage has begun

 

These determinations are made solely by the carrier.

 

Policy Renewal Payments

To request a policy cancellation or inquire about a potential refund, clients should contact Summit Shield Insurance Solutions directly. We will assist in submitting cancellation requests and communicating with the insurance carrier on your behalf.

 

Refunds, when approved, are issued by the insurance carrier—not Summit Shield—and are processed according to the carrier’s timelines and procedures.

 

Refund Processing Time

 

Approved refunds are typically processed by the carrier and may take several weeks to appear, depending on the carrier, payment method, and financial institution involved.

 

Summit Shield is not responsible for carrier processing delays.
